March Madness - A Tournament of Books

Hi and welcome to another amazing project one of the teachers in my school did in the hallway.
Just like basketball has "March Madness" - she (Miss Mahoney) is reading books to the students and they are voting which book is popular/interesting than the other - of course she has different parameters that they have to follow.

It is huge and all the kids from other 1st grade classes keep checking it to see what is going to be the book of the year.

Enjoy the pictures below of how the process is moving along.

***I will try to keep updating it until it is all complete and the #1 book that the class selected is displayed in the middle.  I will get the list of the books that are participating in this tournament of books. Come BACK for more updates!!!!!

Great Job Miss Mahoney!!!!

Wax Museum Exhibit

Our second grade classes had a two-days event in the cafeteria where students were dressed according to the group of animals they were studying.
Can you guess what animal each student represents?

***Pictures have been distorted to protect the children!!!!

Teacher's :Lounge

If you ever had the opportunity to work in a brand new school...and the principal loves art and lets you use your creative ideas.  Wow the opportunities to decorate and create new and inviting things are endless.
Everyday during the 1st month and a half of school I would go into the teacher's lounge and the plain white walls were driving me crazy.  So I decided to do something about it.  Here is what I did. Enjoy!
